Many people love the idea of a cottage, but the price is often prohibitive. Further, the maintenance and upkeep of the property frequently means that one spends as much time putting in the dock, cutting the grass, cleaning the waterfront, fixing broken items, cleaning the cottage, winterizing the cottage etc. as they do enjoying the time away. And for many, the actual amount of time one is able to spend at the cottage is only a fraction of the year. There is a solution! You can own (not rent, own) five weeks every year in a luxurious waterfront villa, fully furnished with furnishings of the highest quality, with absolutely no maintenance to perform and no need to pack anything but what you would bring to a hotel (everything is included from bedding and linens, dishes and cutlery to cleaning services) for a fraction of what you would pay to buy a similar property and only use it a few weeks a year anyhow. If you want to let family use one of your weeks, no problem. You own 10% of the property. If you want to rent out one or more of your weeks for a couple of thousand dollars, you can do that too. Again, you own your share of the property, along with all of its amenities. Hand it down to your children like you would a cottage. Even sell it if it became necessary. This unit belongs to my parents (unit #10) and is one of the most desirable units in the resort. It is an end unit, meaning it is larger and brighter than most and has an extra solarium on the main level and upstairs. It backs on to the golf course for extra privacy. The permanent summer week is the last week in July, going into the holiday weekend ? the most desirable week of the year! They have also purchased a storage locker. Condo fees for 2012 were $3027 and have already been paid in full. The fees cover taxes, utilities, all maintenance of the condo, cleaning of the condo every week, all grounds maintenance etc. and all services and items owned by the villa (boats, equipment etc). Fees also build a pot from which new furniture, repairs etc are covered. This means that you never have to lay out extra money to buy new furniture or other items or repair or upgrade something. Your unit will always be kept in pristine condition, and you will not have to do any of the work!
Each year you will get five weeks - one Spring, one Summer, one Fall, one Winter, and one ?floater? (it moves from season to season). The summer week is the last week in July - a very desirable week - and it is permanent. The other four weeks for 2012 have not yet been chosen. If you buy soon, you may be able to choose them! You can rent out your weeks (rates are $1700/wk off season and $2300/wk high season) or give them to family as you choose. Guests are always welcomed.
